What I Need To Bring To Buy A Car

Dodge Dealer

When you come into Adams Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, your local Dodge dealer, to buy a new vehicle, you should always make sure that you have the proper paperwork necessary to make your purchase. Our team would love to get you into the driver’s seat of the new Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or Ram that you have always wanted but we can’t do that if you don’t come to our dealership with what you need. This is why Adams CDJR, your local Jeep dealership, has compiled this easy-to-use checklist of everything that you need to make sure that you bring with you when purchasing a vehicle. You should always bring:

– Updated Driver’s License

Your license must be issued by the same state that you are registering your vehicle. Military members are the exception to this rule as any state can issue their license.

– Current Proof of Insurance

Make sure that you bring an updated insurance card with you to make your purchase. It must contain the name of the person who is purchasing the model plus whoever’s name will be on the title. The insurance card doesn’t necessarily have to be for your new vehicle: it could be for your current vehicle.

– Updated Registration Card

This applies to you only if you planning on trading in your current vehicle and you still have a lien against said vehicle or if you want to transfer over your current license plates. Ask our team at Adams CDJR, your local Jeep dealership, if you have any questions about this process.

– Trade-in Title

If you are trading in your model that doesn’t have a bank lien, then make sure you bring in the title of that vehicle. Many states, Maryland included, have titles that have two parts, so keep in mind that you should bring both parts with you.

– All Parties Involved

You should also make sure you bring everyone involved who has to sign for your new vehicle, including anyone who will be on the trade title along with anyone who has to sign the loan paperwork. This includes co-signers and co-owners too. Make sure that you bring everyone who is on the title of your new models as well.

– Form of Payment

If you want to make a down payment on your new model, then make sure you bring your checkbook, wallet or other form of payment. This is also key if you want to buy an extended service contract.
